The property was sold, and is going to be demolished and a new building constructed. No specific date given yet. Once the nee building is finished, Spuds will re-open at that same location. There are two other Spuds locations. One on Alki (owned by Ivar's) and another in Edmonds (another private owner). While they all share the name, they are not the same business.
Not sure but the same folks have operated it since i was in college in the 1980s. All the other spud are owned by ivers i think
Probably farmed. It was cheap overpriced fish.
Favorite fried fish spot, and I love the prawns. We always stop by when we step in the area.
Loved it...great staff was very helpful...good hot food and the fries are awesome...decent parking and right next to greenlake for an after meal stroll...enjoyJ Fish
Has good fish and chips, better than what I had in London, they could keep the dinning area neater.
Eh, it's fish and chips. I know it's been around forever, but Owl n Thistle was way better food and price wise. If this place had cheaper prices or larger portions, it would be worth it beyond the history.
Loved this place! It’s the best fried fish we’ve had since moving to Washington. We shared a side of pickles and they were delicious, too. The fries are hand cut, which aren’t my thing, but my husband loved them. They even have an outside area that’s dog friendly - including a bowl of fresh water. The customer service today (Sunday) was really great; we’ll definitely be back and recommend it to friends!
Best fish n chips in Seattle. I love coming here.
Amazing fish and chips! Get them while you can.
Love the spot. Especially the slaw and garlic malt vinegar. Really like the mid century style and history of the spot. Kinda sad that it's gonna change and be part of a huge apartment but hopefully it's good for them! Super good check it out!
The best halibut ever the service is great i all ways get the halibut, just all around everything is fresh and tastes good
Amazing fish and chips!!! They served a large amount of fish: I ordered a single and it came with more fish than the doubles I've ordered elsewhere. Mmmn, mmmn, mmmn! Yummy. AND when I asked for vinegar they gave me garlic vinegar which I almost wanted to drink from the little container they gave it to me in. The person who helped us was a jack of all trades, doing everything. He was also VERY friendly too. Thanks Spud F&C!
A classic Seattle icon. Over the years the food portions have gotten much, much smaller and much, much more expensive. Nice, friendly staff
THE BEST EVER!! I LEARNED TODAY THAT THEY ARE CLOSING FOR REMODEL,APRIL 11TH. THIS HAS BEEN A PART OF MY CHILD HOOD AND BROTHER'S WORKED THERE OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL, THERE IN 50ISH NOW. I WILL MISS THE OLD AND SURE HOPE THEY DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING IN THE NEW. Never had better fish& chips.
They do it right. Crispy, tasty fish and fresh fries. Their fry station is right behind the counter and your food comes out immediately after it's finished, all the cook has to do is turn around and place it on the counter. Pretty great setup, i'm sure they're consistent. They also have beer, I don't see it really advertised anywhere but it's there. 4 dollars for a 16oz rainier is reasonable in Seattle. Jones soda dispenser too btw, and I've heard good things about their shakes.
Great fish and chips, there's always a line and the food is always fresh. You can't go wrong with this choice!
Clam chowder was very good. We got the prawns and scallops. Both we're great. The homemade tartar sauce was in point.
Just got to Seattle and needed a fish and chip fix. This was close by. Funky little place with great fish. The hand breaded fish was delightful and the garlic vinegar had my taste buds wanted more. The tarter sauce was another treat. Nice view of Greenlake! Definitely worth exploring again!
Old favorite w/great food and service.
Great food and good sized portions. While it's not cheap, I think the prices are reasonable for what you get as well as the location. They're one of the few original Seattle spots left around town and they continue to have great quality food.
Great fish, french fries from fresh potatoes, great clam chowder!
Fast, friendly service and awesome food. Don't change a thing!
Historic true Seattle fish and chips.Hasn't changed and doesn't need to. Great seafood and service. Also shakes and sundaes for dessert!
I am sure there are 1000 reviews on this place but let's make it 1001. We have eaten here a handful of times and the fish is excellent. The fries were nice and crispy, although when you order takeout make sure you get them out of the bag quickly because they will steam up and lose some of the crispiness.
This is a hidden little seafood pub on Green Lake. Family owned, and parking in the back. Fried oysters are good-- though a bit heavily breaded. Coleslaw okay, fries great. Limited hours.
The service is better and the taste is better than the Alki location. Everything looked clean but I didn't love that the cook frying the fish was handling all the food with his bare hands. Or maybe he had gloves on, they were just covered in batter? I'll give em the benefit of the doubt! And, as always, great coleslaw.
Mainly because I love the owners. We had fish and chips, prawns and onion rings. Delicious! Absolutely loved the fries - not frozen. They are the best.
